BOY, OH BOY

Well much to my sons disagreement, I do love him, and I have made stuff for him before. I do agree that it's easier to make stuff for the girls tho. To remedy the argument at hand, I am making a boy quilt. It's a lot easier said than done. I have thought and shopped, and finally come up with an idea. While in one of my favorite quilt stores, I found boy material. YAY!!! I found the cutest material with robots. It also had a matching stripe material to go along with it. I threw in some solids and found some other patterns to go along with it. I am going to make a crazy patch quilt with robots. Lets hope that I can get it done with out to much impatience from my son.

WHAT TO DO NOW??

I know, I know. I haven't posted in a over a week. Last week was very busy. I got my craft room clean, and my Stamp party was lots of fun. But now I am itching to sew again. I have been looking at my clean room and wanting to sew but just not mess up my room. So the best thing I thought to do was to start with a small project. Finnish it and clean up right after. So thats just what I did... I finished a project that I was "commissioned" to do over three months ago. It wasn't that I didn't want to do it, I just couldn't find the material that was bought. I made a wallet from my own design. I love this wallet. Its big enough to carry a check book, drivers license, credit cards, cash and all those receipts every woman shoves in meaning to throw out later. The best part is that it only takes about 3 hours to make.

GOING THREW WITHDRAWL

I am having company on Friday and need to clean my "craft" room (also known as my formal dinning room) up so that it isn't a complete mess when people enter my front door. I keep getting distracted with projects I want to work on. I made an executive decision today. I put my sewing machine away on Tuesday until Saturday. I'm was hoping this will help me to get my cleaning done. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped. I still keep thinking about all the quilts I want to do. It might not help that I am also looking at books and patterns as I am cleaning. (I forgot that I had some of those things.) On the good side, Saturday is just around the corner, and my room looks a lot better. (Not sure it will ever look like a dinning room again until I get my basement redone, but I can see more of the floor.) I am going to do my best, to try and keep it clean. Lets see how it goes....

BUSY BUSY

I have been busy all week quilting my tops. I have managed to get four out of the five done that I wanted to do before I start any more projects. The last one I decided to quilt at the quilt store where I rent the machine quilter. So now to figure out what to start next.
Here are two of the ones I finished
Here is the front, back and stitch work on the other quilt.

TIME FOR A BRAKE

I have been working very hard to finish the multitude of quilt tops that need to be quilted. I had to take a small break to make some money. A very kind friend of mine decided that she wanted two aprons made for her adorable little kids. The are for one boy and one girl. I even embroidered the kids names on them. It didn't take long but here they are...

FIRST CHALLENGE EVER

I have decided to partake in a quilt challenge!!! I have never done it before so I was a little leery when I read the rules, but I think I am up for the "challenge." So here it is:

MODERN MONOCHROMATIC CHALLENGE
Design and make a quilt that is monochromatic. Create interest, life and energy in a quilt by using tints, shades and tones of a single color.

When I first read the rules I thought it would be easy but the more I thought about it the more I couldn't figure out what to do. After much thought, searching the internet, and suggestions from my hubby I figured out what my quilt design will be. I'm not telling anyone what I have chosen until I have submitted it to the contest, but I will post pictures as soon as the contest deadline has past. I have until March 31st. I'm almost positve I will not win, but I'm trying. Now I just need to pick a color to base it on. What is everyones favorit color??

THE START OF "SOMETHING"

Okay, so here it is. I decided to blog about my hobby. I know, I know, I have way too many hobbies. I am into sewing, purse making, quilting (yes there is a difference), cooking, photography, scrapbooking, card making, bow making, jewelry making, glass blowing, and I'm sure if there is probably something else that I would love to do if I knew about it. That's why its way very ruff trying to decide on a title. I don't claim to be the best at any hobby, but I do enjoy them and they make me happy. Lets call it my therapy. I have so many ideas and things I would love to learn that I wanted a place to keep track. Here is where my ideas and creations will be logged. This is just the start. I am hoping this blog will help others with ideas and give them encouragement to learn to sew. Of course if you want something done and just don't feel like you an do it yourself, I would be happy to help you out.

But now I am vowing (of course knowing me it will be hard) not to have multiple projects going all at once. At least not more than three at a time. ;) I am doing at least one "Block-of-the-Month" so I will be constantly working on that one. Lets face it, between quilting, card making, scrapbooking and jewelry making, I will have multiple things going. But I am going to try my best to keep it simple. Today, I'm going to go finish working on one of the quilt tops I completed last week. Happy crafting everyone. Keep checking back to see just what I'm up to for the day. I'll post pictures later...
